Moving like a Skeleton – Experience skeletal anatomy
2-day workshop on exercise physiology with Katja Münker
23. Okt 2026 - 25. Okt 2026
Hands-on skeletal anatomy for application in educational, therapeutic, or artistic professions. This workshop provides in-depth insight into skeletal anatomy and the movement physiology of joints.
What does this workshop focus on?
For participants with body awareness methods, this workshop offers detailed anatomical knowledge with a focus on biomechanical force projections along the skeleton. Participants with already solid anatomical knowledge can further anchor their knowledge in their own body orientation through targeted movement awareness exercises.
Which somatic methods are covered in this workshop?
Based on the Feldenkrais Method, beneficial force pathways through the skeleton are explored in movement and illustrated through demonstrations on the body and skeleton. Each day is dedicated to a detailed study of a large functional unit (torso & head / pelvis & legs / arms & shoulders) and its significance for the overall system.
Who is this workshop recommended for?
The workshop is open to participants with and without prior knowledge. The language of instruction is English (with partial German translation).
- Participants in the SAB training and further education courses as a supplement to the training content
- Somaticians
- Yoga teachers
- Dancers & Athletes
- Medical & therapeutic practitioners

Detailed Information
What does experiential anatomy mean?
Based on several somatic methods and techniques, and with the help of images, materials, models, and movement experiments, body systems and interrelationships are explored and integrated into one's own body image. This develops a complex, vibrant understanding of one's own body and the body in general, while simultaneously enabling a strengthening of self-efficacy and autonomy. The practice combines trust in one’s own body with knowledge about the body. The practice of experiential anatomy teaching is continually evolving with the development of somatic methods such as Alexander Technique, Bartenieff Fundamentals, Body-Mind-Centering, Feldenkrais Method, Ideokinesis, Laban Movement Studies, as well as in the context of contemporary dance, improvisation and contact improvisation. For whom is the practice of experiential anatomy recommended?
The practice in experiential anatomy is particularly suitable for people,- who want to develop a deeper connection to their body
- who want to rediscover themselves
- who want to learn anatomy and physiology in an embodied way
- Movement practitioners from all disciplines who want to develop greater skill, clearer orientation and presence in their sport, dance or performance
- Educators who want to learn about body knowledge in an experiential way
When and how does Experiential Anatomy take place at the Somatic Academy Berlin?
Experiential Anatomy showcases a creative diversity of didactics and teaching methods, depending on the methods used. Individual movement research, group exercises, and hands-on practice are incorporated. Instructors Heike Kuhlmann, Nina Wehnert, and Katja Münker regularly offer workshops with different focuses.Dieses Event kann nicht einzeln gekauft werden.
