In this workshop, we explore the dimensions and frequency levels of the heart. Dynamic, fiery and subtle, delicate movement explorations bring body, emotions, and mind into open flow. Smooth, three-dimensional stretches stimulate the fascial connection to the diaphragm, lungs, and pelvic floor within the body-wide network. Our emotional resilience can also be strengthened, because from the somatic depths, our vulnerability becomes differently accessible and available for healing, transformation, and vision.
From this, a resonant heart field unfolds, which invites us beyond body, time and space to dwell in the intimacy and connection of the living.
What will we do?
- Through a variety of movement explorations, from dynamic and fiery to subtle and delicate, we question cultural encrustations, transform limiting core beliefs, melt away physical limitations, and bring body, emotion, and mind into open, permeable flow.
- Through three-dimensional stretches, we stimulate the dance of the heart within its body-wide network and promote the supple, fascial connection to the diaphragm, lungs and pelvic floor.
- Through the elements: fire, water, earth, air and space, we connect with the ‘heart of the earth’ to open the heart’s extraordinary ability to encounter the beautiful and the difficult.
- Through mindfulness, imagination, compassion and loving presence, we uncover the amazing abilities of the physical heart and its electromagnetic field.
- Through breath, sound and voice we awaken the wild and the tender of our innate heart capacity and dare to initiate the true nature of our heart: love and resonance.
How does it work?
- Inspiring lectures alternate with exercise sessions on the respective topic.
- The breathing, voice and movement sequences are first introduced in individual steps, which then lead into extensive open movement explorations.
- The personal experiences, insights and discoveries are then deepened and rounded off in small groups through partner work, mindfulness-based conversations, and in plenary sessions through exchanges accompanying the process.
This workshop is also a module of the Continuum training program. All modules are repeated cyclically, so you can join the training at any
What is the background of Continuum?
Emilie Conrad founded Continuum in the 1960s and continued to develop it until her death in 2014.
This continuing education program, taught by eight faculty members, integrates Continuum content from different decades.
All instructors were trained directly by Emilie Conrad and came into contact with her work at different times. The program aims to bring together different "periods" of Continuum's development through experienced instructors, thus connecting with its historical development.
The arc of Continuum's history provides the opportunity to explore where it wants to develop further.
How is the training structured?
This continuing education program, taught by eight faculty members, integrates Continuum content from different decades. All teachers learned from Emilie Conrad; she founded Continuum in the 1960s and continued to develop it until her death in 2014.
Emilie Conrad taught in a mode of continuous exploration. While each new developmental step was embedded in and built upon the previous one, this meant, among other things, that students who encountered the work in the 1980s dealt with different content than those who encountered the method in the 2000s. This training program aims to bring together different "periods" of Continuum's development by bringing together teachers who encountered the work at different times.
Furthermore, it is in keeping with the essence of Continuum to perceive itself as a living process and thus be open to the continuous development of teaching content and applications. Although we are guided by fundamental core principles, Continuum remains an ongoing, constantly unfolding journey of exploration into the mystery of conscious human life. Through the diversity of teachers in this training, we hope to support participants in trusting their own questions and the progression of their individual somatic movement research, as well as in developing their own teaching approach.
Curriculum of the entire training course
You can join the training at any time. The modules are repeated cyclically. Booking the entire training course instead of individual modules is available at a reduced price.
Module 7
29.05. - June 1, 2025 | Versatility, bringing inner practice to outer expression with Jane Okondo
Enables the expansion of how Continuum can support the embodiment of being in the environment.
Deepening self-exploratory learning, expanding the capacity for dynamic stillness, and dissolving familiar structures into a fluid model of coherence.
Module 8
October 21 - 26, 2025 | Ouroborus, Moving Medicine from the Darkness with Kai Ehrhardt
Dedication to the themes of life cycles, death, and initiation
Retreat with a continuum movement sequence, in which each element has a different function and effect on the overall system, all of which train permeability, presence, and the capacity for surrender
The final 42 hours will no longer be interrupted by language, allowing everyone to engage with their own rhythm and personal themes
Module 1
05.02. - 08.02.2026 | Values, Principles, and Methods of Practice with Mary Abrams
Focus on the principles and values of Continuum
Deepening our understanding through practices of breath, sound, movement, touch, and witnessing, along with nonverbal creative expression and verbal dialogue
Module 2
07.05. - 10.05.2026 | Self-care and self-efficacy with Rosemarie Kussinger-Steffes
Enriching and nourishing our organism
Changing the structure and information of our organism through revitalizing movements
Recognizing the possibility of self-regulation of our system through less constriction and restriction
Module 3
03.09. - 06.09.2026 | The Resonant Heart Field with Divo G. Müller
Exploring the dimensions and frequency levels of the heart, based on our embryonic heritage and transpersonal resonance with the planetary heart field.
Building somatic fluidity, emotional resilience, and inner spiritual resources to connect with the mystery of life on the threshold of the unknown.
From the somatic depths, our essential heart gifts and wounds become accessible and thus available for healing, transformation, and vision.
From this, a resonant heart field unfolds, inviting us beyond body, time, and space to dwell in the intimacy and interconnectedness of all beings.
Module 4
12.11. - 15.11.2026 | Embodiment and the Creative Process with Robin Becker
Empowerment to question self-limiting beliefs about ourselves, our body-mind, or our personal/professional practices
Examination of the principles of the Continuum as the foundation for freedom of expression and research
Module 5
tba 2027 | Embodied Flow System with Megan Bathory Peeler
Focusing of the body as a creative process
If we approach the body with interest and openness to discoveries, we will examine how the primary motive motifs and processes of our biology can serve as a metaphor for our creative efforts
Continuum offers a methodology with which we learn to be receptive to new and unknown patterns that move through us
Module 6
17.06. - 20.06.2027 | The Art of Attention with Tone Gilje
Focus on enlivening and activating our perceptual awareness
Recognizing familiar patterns, cultural influences, and limitations that determine our daily activities through slowing down
When we are aware of these patterns, we can consciously direct our attention and focus to the subtler movements, forms, and currents that may still lie in the unfamiliar territory of our organism, waiting to be experienced, felt, or expressed in new ways
What is Continuum?
Continuum is a somatic approach that invites us to explore and tune into our bodies as a living process, a continuous orchestration of communication and resonance, a creative intelligence inherent in every cell.
We can experience that we are movement, and that the movement we are influences the movement we make. What's more, we come into direct sensory contact with an all-pervasive regulatory dynamic.

What added value does Continuum training offer?
Continuum training is recommended for those who aspire to become a Continuum Teacher themselves. However, it alone is not enough to teach. The process to officially become a Continuum Teacher is managed by the Continuum Teacher Association (CTA). In addition to extensive self-awareness, additional practical experience, and support from a recognized mentor are required.
With eight experts, all of whom studied directly with Emilie Conrad and are also members of the CTA, the Somatic Academy Berlin offers a high-quality foundation for integrating Continuum into the larger context of somatic methods and approaches. Each individual module represents a personal benefit for individual development and can be booked independently. A Somatic Academy certification is issued for participation in all eight modules of the Continuum training.
Kai Ehrhardt, curator of this Continuum training at the Somatic Academy Berlin, is a member of the Continuum Teachers Association (CTA) www.continuumteachers.com and is happy to answer any further questions.
